A 22k yellow gold necklace with Phoenician beads by Jean Mahie.
Jean Mahie was born from a creative collaboration between Jacline Mazard and her father-in-law Jean‑Marie Mazard. The pair began working together in 1969 in Mouans-Sartoux in the south of France and officially launched their jewellery line in 1970. Largely self-taught, they handcrafted pieces in rich 22-carat gold with designs inspired by primitive forms, Mediterranean motifs, and Jacline’s childhood memories near ancient Carthage. Their bold, sculptural style quickly caught the eye of leading jewellers such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, both of whom retailed early Mahie pieces.
