A retro 18k gold tank bracelet by Hermès.
Hermès jewellery reflects the house’s origins in fine saddlery, with designs rooted in equestrian motifs and a preference for clean, functional forms. Early pieces were often made in collaboration with specialist workshops, translating leatherwork details into precious materials. Among these makers, Georges Lenfant designed a number of Hermès jewels, known for his distinctive goldwork and technical precision.
Over time, Hermès developed a recognisable jewellery language, most notably with the Chaîne d’ancre motif introduced in 1938, inspired by anchor chains and still central to the collection today. Contemporary Hermès jewellery continues this approach, balancing simplicity and structure with subtle references to the house’s heritage while evolving through new materials and modern interpretations.
